Hello! I am pleased to join the team at Chatrath Counselling Centre! I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Manitoba (Major in Philosophy), and then I received my Bachelor of Social Work degree at Booth University College, registered as a licensed social worker with the Manitoba College of Social Workers and received my Health Services Leadership and Management (Hons) at RRC Polytech.
I have been a practising social worker in Manitoba since 2012 working with adult clients often overwhelmed with immense challenges and losses within their lives. They struggle with persistent anger, depression, anxiety, poor coping. I find relationship building with my clients highly rewarding sharing in their personal journey within a safe space while they are in crisis that can involve suicidal ideation, self-harm, psychosis, depression, relationship breakdown, loss of self-esteem, post-partum, mood disorders, trauma and addictions. I utilize an assortment of therapies that include (CBT) cognitive-behavioral therapy, (DBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused, Strengths Based and Motivational Interviewing that best suits my client’s current needs and stabilization. My clinical goals are focused to help guide my clients with comfort, empathy and understanding to rebuild confidence, empowerment, self-esteem and belief in themselves toward self-discovery and healing.
My clinical focus at Chatrath Counselling Centre will be supporting adults who are experiencing personal difficulties related to anxiety, depression, managing anger, mood disorders, crisis intervention, panic attacks, interpersonal relationships, emotional regulation and distress tolerance.
