Hello! My name is Jessica, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to complete my practicum at Chatrath Counselling Center while pursuing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at St. Francis Xavier University and recently relocated to friendly Manitoba from the East Coast of Canada.
Throughout my experience, I have had the privilege of working alongside adolescents, teens, and adults from a variety of backgrounds and walks of life. These experiences have strengthened my belief in the importance of creating a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where individuals feel heard, respected, and supported.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and that each person brings their own unique experiences, strengths, and perspectives to the therapeutic relationship. I strive to meet clients where they are and work together to identify meaningful goals and strategies that align with their individual needs.
My therapeutic approach draws from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care. I take an integrative and client-centred approach, tailoring therapy to each individual’s needs, goals, values, and strengths.
Whether you are navigating difficult emotions, experiencing a life transition, working through past experiences, or simply seeking a better understanding of yourself, it would be my privilege to support you along your journey. I look forward to creating a safe and compassionate space where we can work together toward meaningful growth and change.
