B.A., B.Ed., TFL (Hons), M.A. Candidate (CCPA #11267402)
I believe that every person has a story worth hearing and strengths worth discovering, even during life’s most difficult seasons. Whether you are navigating anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply feeling overwhelmed, I hope to provide a warm, compassionate space where you feel heard, respected, and supported.
I have more than 15 years of experience working in education in both New Zealand and Canada. I have had the privilege of supporting adults from diverse backgrounds, including newcomers to Canada, Indigenous learners, students with learning disabilities, and individuals facing mental health challenges. These experiences have strengthened my belief that healing and growth begin with curiosity, collaboration, and genuine human connection.
My approach is person-centered and evidence-based, with a focus on creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for clients. I draw from humanistic principles, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, recognizing that every client’s experiences, strengths, and goals are unique. Together, we will work at a pace that feels right for you, building on your strengths and moving toward the goals that matter most.
Outside of counselling, I enjoy reading, swimming, travelling, and making memories with my family. Nga mihi, Emma.
