Tess Boomer-Ens
B.A. (Hons.), M. Ed. School and Applied Child Psychology, Counselling Clinician
Hello! I am happy to join the team at Chatrath Counselling Centre. I completed my Bachelors (Honours) degree in Arts at the University of Manitoba (Major in Psychology), and then I received my Master of Education degree in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary.
I currently work as a provisional school psychologist under Manitoba Education. Through my contract work here at Chatrath Counselling Centre, my focus will be on supporting children, adolescents, and young adults who are living with various developmental disorders, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, or ADHD. Other focuses of my practice will be supporting young people who experience concerns related to anxiety, depression, ODD, OCD, suicidal thoughts, non-suicidal self injury, peer conflict, and difficulties with life changes. My therapeutic approach is client-centered, trauma-informed, and based upon evidence-based strategies.
I believe that anyone, at any age, can take steps towards wellness and making changes to regain balance in their lives. Together we can set small or large goals that will help guide our sessions and learn new skills to cope with challenges or process emotions. I look forward to our future work together!
